Pizza Recipe

A A A

Here is an easy pizza recipe that my brother-in-law gave me many years ago.

If you are looking for a simple to make but still mildly impressive meal to create on valentines day this may do the trick.

- 1 cup warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 2 1/2 cups unbleached flour
- dash of salt
- 2 tbl spoon oil

The above are all of the ingredients you need to make the crust.  You can use different flour if you want.  My brother-in-law uses 1 1/2 cups wheat flour and then 1 cup white flour.  I prefer just using the unbleached all-purpose flour.  All you need to do is put the warm water in a bowl, add the yeast and stir it for about a minute with a spoon.  Next just add the oil (I use olive oil), some salt, and the flour.  Mix it up with your hands and form a nice big ball of dough.  Keep it in the mixing bowl and cover it with a damp cloth or damp paper towl.

Leave it alone for about an hour.  Once it has sat for this time you can form your pizza crust on a pan.  I use a rolling pin, but you can flatten it out with your hands.

Now just add some pizza sauce (1 small can) and then all of your toppings.  Then it really only takes 1 8oz bag of pizza cheese to more than cover the pizza.  I cook it at 400 degrees for around 20 minutes.

This is a recipe that is really hard to mess up.  It is also healthier than most any pizza that you would buy at the store and will no doubt taste better as well.  Furthermore, the cost of the ingredients is very low for what you end up with :)
