One of the complaints about this new laptop is that it has a smaller battery than the 700.  This is unfortunate because mobility is really what you are paying for with this machine; mobility and long battery life are synonymous in my book.  Speaking of, I did get to try out the OLPC over the weekend, I will have to write up a review of it later.  But the battery life was pretty decent, and with that laptop new batteries are only $10.
