Alternative sources of energy being considered by designers and manufacturers, include body heat, hydrogen fuel cells and of course, solar power; apart from many other lesser known technologies and technical electronic inventions.

Organic LED (OLED) displays for television screens, computer monitors and lighting purposes, is one such technological innovative advancement that has now been successfully incorporated into many difference new devices.

Many other technologies and sources are being refined for more effective energy use and some of these are now more affordable and reliable. In spite of using as many gadgets we want, saving energy should also be one of our major concerns for the benefit of the planet and everyone on it.

Many home electronics products have the label ‘Energy Star’ that is a standard indication that the product helps home energy use. New technology means more savings.

Therefore, better to have an LCD TV instead of a CRT or plasma screen. Smaller is better and hence, LCD TVs of lesser sizes are also better. Please remember this!
